Director Roopa Rao was determined to illustrate the life journey of her characters in the widely praised film Gantumoote. While fans continue to be captivated by its impact, Roopa recently revealed her next project, Gochara, distancing it from Gantumoote by crossing out a potential sequel. She explained that while the films are interconnected, Gochara stands on its own. Roopa shared that Gochara was inspired by her personal experiences and explores the idea of a woman undertaking solo travel. She expressed her desire for women to feel empowered by the film and hopes to challenge outdated perceptions held by men regarding women traveling alone.
